Who we are

Mar Addai Parish is a faithful and welcoming community of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East in Turlock, California. For generations, Assyrian families from the Central Valley have gathered here to worship in the ancient Aramaic tradition, celebrate the Holy Qurbana (Raza Qadisha), and preserve our precious faith, language, and heritage.

Our present church building at 830 E. Canal Drive was constructed by dedicated parishioners in 1947 and its altar was solemnly consecrated in January 1950 by His Holiness the late Catholicos-Patriarch Mar Eshai Shimun XXIII. As one of the oldest Assyrian parishes in the United States, Mar Addai has served as a spiritual home and gathering place for our people since the early days of Assyrian settlement in California.

About Saint Thaddeus

Mar Addai the Apostle (Saint Thaddeus the Apostle) holds a special place of honor in our Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East. As one of the Twelve Apostles chosen by our Lord Jesus Christ, he is a foundational figure in the apostolic succession that defines our ancient Church.
