Father Genard in this episode continues the discussion the armor of God to avoid giving satan the foothold.
The blessed Theophylact comments on this and writes, “By righteousness the Apostle means the virtuous way of life in its entirety. He is telling us, in so many words, to embrace and accomplish every righteous deed. Just as a breastplate protects a soldier from deadly wounds, so does righteousness, and all other virtues, protect a Christian from every evil.”
